Words of Support

“In steering the mission of the Abyssinian Fund, Rev. Richards does not give out money. Instead, he has a vision of training coffee farmers to improve past substandard coffee bean growing, processing, harvesting habits and practices. As a result, these farmers are now able to command a higher market price for their coffee beans. In effect, Rev. Richards has given these farmers a ‘hand up’ rather than a ‘hand out’ and their training lasts for a life time.

“Because of his visionary and creative work as a social entrepreneur, the Andrew Goodman Foundation was honored to include Rev. Nicholas Richards as one of the Foundation’s Hidden Heroes— ordinary people who do extraordinary things by taking action to create a more peaceful, just and sustainable world.”
— David Goodman, The Andrew Goodman Foundation
